That Cold Night

This incidence occurred in 2004 with a family which lived in Rawalpindi. This is a true story and is based on disembodied spirits that somehow dominate over human bodies and also make trouble for humans. The family is alive now and safe thanks to God.

A happy family playing in snow

It started like all the children were free and were enjoying winter vacations. They wanted to spend their vacations in Murree but there father was very busy in his work and could not take them for their refreshment to Murree. The children insisted their father again and again and after too much insisting their father agreed to take them to Murree for picnic but on one condition that they have to come back before evening fall. All the children agreed upon this simple condition as they wanted to see and enjoy by playing with snow over there for a little while. They all were very curious to see the snowfall and to enjoy the beautiful weather in Murree. It is to note that snow falling is extremely rare in Rawalpindi and also with it everyone loves to see snow falling from the sky. It brings happiness and gives joy to people.

Now everyone packed their luggage and left for Murree. When they reached Murree everyone was happy as the snow was falling from the sky at that time. They all enjoyed and played with the snow. Then decided and went to some hotel for lunch as everyone was starving. They all enjoyed their meals in the hotel and also the view of snowfall from the window of the hotel. Weather was pleasant and at this time it was no heavy rainfall.

Sun was setting down, and so now their father started saying to leave for home. But the children again started playing in snow, throwing snow on each other with joy and not listening to what their father was saying. Their mother also said to pack up and to leave for home but the children were so busy in playing that they did not bother listening to what their parents were saying.

Children were playing and having fun also overcoming on the voices of their parents. They were so busy playing that they did not recognize the time passing by. Now it was about night and so everyone rushed to the car and left for home.

On their way back their car stuck on the road. Their father came out of the car to see what had happened but everything was alright on the road. He moved the car back and then tried to start the car but now the car did not start. It was all dark around them. They all were very worried and came out of the car and stood aside to wave someone who might be passing for help. As it was very cold as the temperature in Murree was very low, they turned on the small stove which they had brought with them. All the children and their parents were praying to Allah for help.

It was all dark and quiet. Two, three vehicles passed but they did not stop. After some time of long prayers they saw a truck coming towards them which was quiet far. They were now too stressed from cold that they did not wave to stop the truck but the truck stopped itself. The truck driver told them that this place where they are standing is creepy and is under the spell of evil spirits and that they should not be here.

Also the weather was becoming worse so the truck driver said that he will take them to some hotel because the roads are blocked due to the snowfall. Their father agreed with him and everyone got into the truck. On the way the truck driver told the father that the hotels will ask them for heavy rent amount and that he can do them a favor and take them to his house but he has to do an important job and he can on this time take them to a house where truck drivers usually stay when they are stuck in this type of weather.

Their father agreed with the truck driver as he had not brought much money with him through which he could afford to pay heavy rent of a hotel. So the driver stopped in front of a house which seemed to be a haunted place, so quiet and there was so much peace over there. Then all of them got out of the truck, the driver gave them some blankets and mattresses. The truck driver said them good bye and went away. Everyone went inside the house in which there was only one room with a better condition than all of the other rooms. All of them settled the mattresses and covered them with their blankets. One of the children offered his prayer and then his mother also offered her prayer. After offering her prayer she started reciting  Quran’s Ayats which she had memorized but soon she felt her head so heavy and at last she told them about it. But the father and children said that it was due to the cold and chilly weather and she would be alright after some while. One thing which the truck driver had said to them was not to open the door of house for anyone. So now everyone went into their blanket. They all were praying and all of a sudden the door knocked time by time but they did not open it. But due to this they were not able to go to sleep and also because of the weather. They all again went into their blankets, they slept for a while then again they woke up because of the knocking at the door. This situation continued until the sun rised.

In the morning, everything was alright but the snow falling had not stopped. After sometime the truck driver came, he had not told them that he would come in the morning. When he came he said them that my wife was so much unhappy with me for not giving you anything to eat as I told her about you people that I dropped you at this house. He then told them she wants me to take you to their home, and then he asked them to come with him and told them this weather condition would continue for about three or more days and they cannot stay at this place like this.

They all went with him because they did not have anything to eat and also that they had spent a horrible night in this house. They stayed with the truck driver’s family for about three days and during their stay they were provided with care by the truck driver’s wife as she was very nice to them and full of humanity. They also helped them as they were able to with some chores.

While they were with the truck driver he told them about that house, that the house was dominated by some spirits and those spirits did not allow anyone to stay there and he came to know this by the truck driver who had a bad experience while staying there and he thanked Allah that they all were safe.

One of the children told his father that he saw a huge lady standing near him but you were sleeping and I went into the blanket then started praying. Their mother’s head was still heavy even after three days when they came back to home. They all were fine and healthy but they had a terrible experience of picnic party in their winter holidays. Whenever they think about this experience of the night they always shiver, because anything could have happened to them if the truck driver had not come to them and this was all thanks  to Allah’s will who saved them.
